This is nothing to be scared of, unless you really loved Shiner Dunkelweizen. The little brewery in Shiner has just released news that they will discontinuing production of the Dunkelweizen (red labeled with bats) for a brand new production.
Thats right there is a new kid in town from Shiner and he’s called Holiday Cheer. A seasonal beer just in time for the Holidays. Here are the words from Spoetzl’s (Shiners brewery) PR guy:
“Shiner will be releasing a new winter seasonal in November. It’s a dunkelweizen, but with a twist. They’ve added a hint of peach and pecan flavors. Between the dunkelweizen style and the Texas pecans and peaches (from Stonewall) this beer recognizes both the German heritage and Texas roots of the Spoetzl Brewery. The current version of Shiner Dunkelweizen will not be offered this season.
Its called HOLIDAY CHEER and will be available November through January. It has an ABV of 5.43%”
I was just there 2 months ago and they didn’t leak a word but I look forward to tasting the new flavor and adding the bottle to my collection. Look on the shelves for it.
I often wonder who stops by and reads this thing. It is full of completely random babblings. We all know that a certain Coastie reads this bc he gets paid to do less work than I do on anchor watch. Government spending surfing the Internet for New Zealand travel plans and being mad he doesn’t own an Apple.
But besides him, who is peaking over the fence into the yard? Drop some hints like a scavenger hunt.
That’s right I stand there for 4hrs in the wee-early hours of the morning hoping to spot an anchor. Come on be realistic…that’s not what we do. We sit in recliners watching episodes of Entourage, taking self portraits, and scrounging through endless blogs on he little iPhone screen as if the information is so important. And someone decided to pay me for this.
We gather our thoughts and ideas to create constant advances in technology with the intent of making life easier, only to generate unknown side effects. Perhaps this was forseen, but without the complete understanding of our actions, the effect was left behind in a distant consideration. Meh well worry about how to fix that when the time comes around. And in that split-second instance of time, hardly even registered in the vast database of one’s brain, re monster was created. An ongoing snowball effect, constantly building mass as it’s effectsbfeather out into the unexpected like flood waters into a dry neighborhood. In our ever expanding quest for knowledge, we tinker with variables that are beyond our full comprehension. The cause and effects dip into darkness. Regions in which few, if any have ever considered, much less seen. If you choose to play “scientific God,” realize the unwanted complexities that compound from attempting to adjust one variable. This “existence” appeared without our help and will surely clean us from the plate so that it may continue in it’s cycle.
Not me that is. The Port of Houston and all TX ports are closed and that means sorry boys but you can’t stay here. If you look at this map around 6am Friday morning well only be 165 miles from the eye of the storm indicated by the pink line. This should be interesting. Look for the experience in photos in videos when we return to port early next week. I’ll show you what a hurricane is really like “safely at sea”
