Once in a while it’s good to shut off the brain drain a.k.a. TV and read some books. I still haven’t heard anyone tell me an awesome movie that they saw and then claim that it was better than the book. Running out of the house to get back to the ship I picked up Michener’s “Journey” and it turned out to be quit delightful. Tall tales and hearsay about hords of gold being found in the Yukon Valley (in Alaska that is) send thousands of unknowledgable people from across the globe off into the wilderness. Even the richest and most strong-hearted will attempt their hand. Ahh the arrogance of some people and how ironic it can be at times. Being so hard-headed as to never admit fail until all is lost…or maybe the knowledge at the end is well worth the life lessons learned. Shut off the tube and take a read. Hell tell me a good one to read.
