Ah yes the 2nd Installment is in our possesion. Not too many of these flooding the streets.

Nixon has released the 2nd of 4 monthy installments of their Rubber Player. March was blue, which I totally snagged. April has been blessed with Red which is being picked up now.

Sitting on the edge of the dock, meet dangling to rest on the old tires below. Long after their use on land has expired, a second coming awaits them, suspended along do la to serve as mere cushions for ships. Worn and torn, their lives are long lasting over the side. Staring out along the ship channel, the sights and sounds of a bustling industry coincide with the liveneds of nature. Not a cloud in the sky, fading from blue to a soft brown along the horizon. What should be vibrant is tainted by the plume of pollution that encompasses this city. All alone, a jetliner scurries overhead leaving in it’s wake a ghost white chem trail, puffy at first but lasting only a matter of seconds. Onboard people are cramped, soMe are coMfy, some are sleeping, some are worried, some are apathetic to the world below, some can’t let it go, but together they zoom across the land thousands of feet below. Lower now, back into my realm the seagulls are screeching as they maneuver the air in search of food. They seem to make more racket than progress. Nature is going along it’s daily course of survival without regard for the waste around, as if it had any other option than to accept and move along. The water below is covered in trash. Run off from the city has littered this place of plastic, the human footprint of carelessness that shall remain long after all else dies. Across the river, smoke billows from the chemical plant, a friendly reminder of our desire to survive. Thisis the realityof life, surrounding all of us, yet gone unnoticed from a lack of patience. We nver seem to find the time to stop and look. Consider the day gone by. In these fifteen minutes, the world moved on without noticing me, but I noticed her.

Feelings can break,
Tension takes it toll
Causing a change uncontrollable,
But the Spirit…
Spirit can not be broken.
Like a foundation fortifying over time,
The base has settled too deep to be easily disturbed.
When the base is that strong,
Only you can be the destroyer
Because there is enoUgh strength to hold through the storm.
Try to break a man’s spirit, but you can not take away his true happiness.

As I sat alone during the early hours of the morning, I prefer to consider it the middle of the night, with nothing but time to kill I found myself flipping back through this blog.
Do I ever play anymore? Obviously not because I have been away from home for 4 months now. The glamor of sailing the vast blue waters of this planet has long since faded and left me yearning for the comforts of home. Don’t be mistaken, silent black nights and bright cloudless days at sea are still an unbelievable site and experience to witness. But even the most beautiful sunsets that cause the sky to illuminate with a firey orange on the horizon do not hold the same value when they can not be shared. It’s times like those, when your eyes are fixated on attempting to absorb every drop of light that your mind is left to wander. There is no need for the brain to explain what is happening around you, it is just mesmerized that you drift into silence. Without the need for processing reasoning, I begin pondering questions and meanings in life. Theories and reasoning race down the super highway in my head, whizzing by so fast that at times I miss it entirely. Like a policeman waiting on the shoulder of a speedtrap, I must focus on one target at a time because the possibility of catching everyone is unrealistic.
It doesn’t matter how often I find myself waiting for the right target, the same culprit catches my attention. Sharing the experiences with someone else. The moment where each of you stand there in silence, holding onto the single desire to absorb every aspect that is happening around you. The lack of spoken words embraces the fact that it is unexplainable. “The true beauty in life is not actually what is occurring around you, rather it is the ability to share those simple moments with another individual.” When you can walk away sighing because the body feels so refreshed and content. There is a silent understanding of how you truly feel that words and photos will never be able to explain.
That is the beauty of life. Find those moments of silence and endulge yourself because nobody can rob you of them. They are waiting around every corner, in broad daylight, under a lid, just past you. Take the time to slow down and experience life because once the moment has passed you will never be able to relive it.
“Work to live, don’t live to work.” Life is too amazing to spend it away from the ones you care about. Experience all that it has to offer, or as much as you can because the possibilities are endless. For now Im going to continue listening to Explosions in the Sky and absorbing their talents of sound.

This is nothing to be scared of, unless you really loved Shiner Dunkelweizen. The little brewery in Shiner has just released news that they will discontinuing production of the Dunkelweizen (red labeled with bats) for a brand new production.
Thats right there is a new kid in town from Shiner and he’s called Holiday Cheer. A seasonal beer just in time for the Holidays. Here are the words from Spoetzl’s (Shiners brewery) PR guy:
“Shiner will be releasing a new winter seasonal in November. It’s a dunkelweizen, but with a twist. They’ve added a hint of peach and pecan flavors. Between the dunkelweizen style and the Texas pecans and peaches (from Stonewall) this beer recognizes both the German heritage and Texas roots of the Spoetzl Brewery. The current version of Shiner Dunkelweizen will not be offered this season.
Its called HOLIDAY CHEER and will be available November through January. It has an ABV of 5.43%”

I was just there 2 months ago and they didn’t leak a word but I look forward to tasting the new flavor and adding the bottle to my collection. Look on the shelves for it.
